Mathematics Program

Build mathematical thinkers, not just answer chasers.

Guided by graduate-level instructors, the Gifted Center math track blends conceptual clarity, proof writing, and contest-style problem solving. Every learner leaves with a repeatable process for any exam or competition.

What students practice weekly

  • Fast diagnostics and a clear roadmap for every unit
  • Worked solutions with margin notes explaining the why
  • Short quizzes that check both algebra accuracy and reasoning
  • Office hours for last-minute exam runs or contest debriefs

Pathways

Choose the math journey that fits your goals.

Each track uses the same teaching DNA—concept-first explanations, deliberate practice, and proof-grade communication.

Ontario math refresh

Foundation • Grades 7-10

Close gaps, rebuild confidence, and move from memorizing steps to actually modelling problems.

  • Algebra fluency: linear relations, factoring, and manipulating expressions
  • Geometry intuition: similarity, transformations, trigonometry, and coordinate proofs
  • Data literacy: probability, statistics, and clear graph interpretation
  • Study cadence: weekly goal-setting and error logs for every unit
Functions + Calculus

Pre-University • MCR3U / MHF4U / MCV4U

Prepare for advanced functions and calculus with rigorous problem sets and walkthrough solutions.

  • Functions that behave: domain/range, inverse functions, and transformations
  • Rates & limits: derivatives from first principles, motion problems, and related rates
  • Vectors & geometry: analytic geometry, vectors in 2D/3D, and optimization setups
  • Exam readiness: timed drills, structured solutions, and calculator strategy
Contest coaching

Enrichment • AMC / Euclid / COMC

For students who want creative math—inequalities, combinatorics, number theory, and proof writing.

  • Olympiad habits: invariants, bounding, and pattern-spotting under pressure
  • Problem labs: weekly challenge sets with annotated solutions
  • Proof clarity: write-ups that earn full marks and withstand cross-examination
  • Stretch goals: mock rounds that simulate real contest pacing

How we teach

Methods that make math stick.

Concept-first visuals

We use diagrams, Desmos sketches, and quick simulations before throwing formulas at you—so every step has a picture attached.

Contest discipline

Timed drills with escalating difficulty and reflection prompts to turn clever ideas into dependable habits.

Proof-grade writing

Learn to articulate reasoning clearly for full marks in IB, AP, and university problem sets.

Human coaching

Small cohorts or 1:1 sessions led by instructors who model their thinking out loud and annotate your solutions.

Execution rhythm

A predictable week that still leaves room to explore.

Concept Studio

60–90 minutes on core ideas, visual models, and worked exemplars.

Problem Lab

Timed, leveled sets with hints that nudge thinking instead of giving answers.

Feedback Loop

Annotated solutions and quick voice/video notes on what to fix this week.

Extension Track

Optional contest-style questions or enrichment proofs for curious learners.

Communication

Proof and explanation habits we drill every week.

  • Always name the principle (theorem, identity, or property) behind each step.
  • Sketch first: graphs, number lines, and quick tables before symbolic manipulation.
  • Write conclusions in full sentences so reasoning is unambiguous to graders.
  • Compare two methods for every unit to build flexibility under exam pressure.

Next step

Tell us your exam date or contest target—we’ll build the math plan.

We respond within one business day with a proposed schedule, materials, and the right tutor.
